Effective and easy to use

I love fresh in season cherries but hate runny goo. It easily pierces the pits of four cherries at once. You have to pull the stem out and line it up on the tray, but snapping it in will push the pips out. There are warnings in the instructions to look out for partial pits that might be left behind - I've never had this problem, but sometimes a pit was left in the cherry. I only checked the four holes each time and when there weren't any it was always easy to tell which one didn't come out…

Great for removing large batches of cherries

I just made a batch of cherry salsa and I couldn't have done it without this device. I was able to remove four cherries at a time, and out of 2 pounds of cherries, only about 3 had pits. But these pits were not in the cherry and were easy to shake off. I'd say it's a pretty good ratio, and like I said, there's no way I could have eaten 2 pounds of cherries so quickly and easily without this stuff. To be honest, now that I have it, I don't know how I functioned without it. It's also easy to…

Makes pitting cherries a breeze!

It's cherry season in western New York and we just picked 10 pounds of cherries. That means I have about 10 pounds to pit! :) I ordered this cherry stoner from Prepworks by Progressive because my local kitchen store was out of stock. I was skeptical at first - is it really possible to remove all the stones in 4 cherries at once? The answer is yes! I love this cherry pie! All you have to do is unlock the device, put 4 cherries inside (there is space for big and small cherries) and press on the…

LIFE WITHOUT THIS PIT!

I understand that when it comes to kitchen utensils, cherry pits don't always come to mind, but let me tell you, this thing is amazing! This item peels 4 cherries at a time and the pits collect at the bottom of the device. I love that it offers a mold for both small and large cherries. For most cherries, I only used the large mold side. You can easily pit 20 to 28 cherries before emptying the container by tapping on the back of the pits after each pit. The device disassembles for easy cleaning,

Works well! for Pitters

Our family loves this gadget! I used to place my cherries on a cooling rack (rack) in a baking sheet and squeeze the pit out with a stiff straw. It took hours to get working and I (and everything around me) was covered in red spatter. Now all we have to do is separate the cherries from the stems, place them stems up (I tell my kids to point the cherries toward the ceiling), then press them down and voila, done. I made 2 pounds of cherries in a few minutes. Wonderful! My kids love making it for…

Second one I have

This is the second one I have of this particular cherry pit - the first lasted 8 years before I decided to replace it. Over the years, if a plate of cherries didn't set properly, it meant the plate's plastic had chipped and broken in places, and I felt it had gotten to the point where it made more sense to use it replace than babysit him to be sure. The plate didn't break. It is made out of really high quality materials, very good heavy plastic and hard strong springs. The top and bottom are…
