I understand that when it comes to kitchen utensils, cherry pits don't always come to mind, but let me tell you, this thing is amazing! This item peels 4 cherries at a time and the pits collect at the bottom of the device. I love that it offers a mold for both small and large cherries. For most cherries, I only used the large mold side. You can easily pit 20 to 28 cherries before emptying the container by tapping on the back of the pits after each pit. The device disassembles for easy cleaning, but please keep away from the blades as they are very sharp! I found it easy to clean the unit in locked mode after spraying the section just under the lid (which doesn't get dirty). When I first started using this item, I didn't place the cherries in a straight line and sometimes half of the pit remained in the cherry. After several tries I had no more problems and they all came out clean. I have a 9 month old son and instead of wasting time with a knife to split and separate the pit from each cherry, I just remove the pit (and peel it for my baby). Now it's much easier... and safer!
