User friendliness. for CB radios and scanners

The President Walker II is a great CB radio. It features a built-in SWR meter to tune your antenna, 7 different backlight colors for channel numbers, and a scan function to scan all 40 channels. The device is easy to use and the instructions are clear.

You get a lot for your money

Smaller than a Cobra 29, this is a great mid-size radio. More like the size of a Cobra 25. It comes out without mods and even sounds good without me tuning the SWR. The radio comes with Roger horn and two-way communication. The display is really good because you can change the colors.

The automatic noise canceling controls are the best ever

I love not having to fiddle with the noise canceling all the time. It only costs money. I'm having trouble deleting feedback, but I can send and receive much better and further than my more expensive Stryker. Looks great, sounds great. I'm a fan. Highly recommended.

  • Decent performance

Great little radio suitable for CB and two way radios

Bought this for my Ford Ranger! Hooked it up to a Stryker antenna and the SWR was 1.6, the highest of channels 1-40, this little radio talks! But my ranger is a bit cramped so I had to order a floor mount for it! But no complaints at all and I would highly recommend it to the first time CB user! Great little radio and does everything it promises! Thank you and 73 Joe in Georgia!

Great walkie talkie for CB and radio

Great walkie talkie. Packed with useful features and easy to use. The automatic SWR is a really nice touch. A very good receiver and catches a lot of bugs when it's around. Might be a little static but that's in my car so just turn the receive gain down a bit and you'll be fine. You can read the display even in the brightest sun. Combined with a good antenna this is a great radio.

Great radio suitable for CB and radio equipment

Works as advertised. I used this radio as a replacement for a Ranger 696 that I had for 10 years. I hardly speak sideband on my phone so I went with this guy. It seems smaller and lighter than the Ranger I replaced. I really like the ASC scheme. When I want to hear things further away I turn on the squelch until it turns off asc and it works as usual. Indeed, in my opinion, a Kobra should have been 29 lux.

Pros
  • Consistent test results
Cons
  • Dull packaging

Not that it's meant to be hacked.

The radio has some good features. shipment is the same. Didn't expect much from a wattmeter, but that's ok. Bad reception. The Bearcat 980 surpasses it in terms of reception quality. (I just can't see the display). All these CB designers have to hire someone to help design the damn things. You almost reach your destination and stop in front of a high quality transmitter, receiver and display. With the 980 you get close to Uniden. The President is wrong about Walker. IMHO.

  • Impressive
Cons
  • Upgradable

Great for me, best in fixed CB radios

Love this CB radio. You have the right qualities for the job. My favorites are scanning, weather and RF power adjustment. The microphone has an up/down channel and also activates the scan function. I can set the dead key on my RF power meter to around 0.5-3.5 watts. I've found that a setting of around 4 o'clock is good for boosting my mic. ASC is new to me, I will be able to use this feature more often if I believe in it. The HF gain is really smooth and works well. You need a separate SWR…

Pros
  • Great overall performance
Cons
  • Doubtful
