I installed this in the dashboard of my 2004 Toyota Tacoma. I removed the original stereo and installed Pioneer DIN style and then installed this CB under Pioneer using the original stereo factory stereo brackets. I really like this radio so far. I bought it to use as an SSB base station and as I've been playing around with different antenna options the built in audio SWR meter is great. It has all the features one could ask for and I'm sure it will be great for mobile use thanks to the front speaker and great sound quality. Ok first I gave a great review two months after receipt it doesn't transmit it receives excellent but I can't speak swr was at 1 at times, 0 increases to 1.2 but is usually set to 1. The return time for Revain has already expired, I have contacted the President Electronics and they gave me a place to fix the radio, the President does not do any repairs himself, I have to send it in to have the unit checked by an independent shop in Pennsylvania, which then decides whether it is under warranty…

COBRA HIKES out of the water! This is an AMAZING radio that works right out of the box. Thanks to the built-in SWR adjustment function, it was easy to tune the antenna. I am a pilot car driver and very dependent on my CB radio. All the drivers I work with tell me how clean my radio is and how strong the signal is. This is how the Unident BC980SSB should have been. Pros 1) Small, good size for a Ford Escape or other small SUV 2) Includes all the features of the Uniden BC980SSB 3) Seems to draw more activity than the Uniden BC980SSB, but I've also switched to a Midland 12-2442 antenna.
