Lasts 7 months best in electric skillets

After 7 months of fairly heavy use (I don't have a hob so I used that instead) a white ring was forming on where the heating element is. (See photo) I don't know why but not wanting to risk my health I threw it away. So after the bill it was $5.71 a month for 7 months before I had to throw it away. You can make your own decision.

Pros
  • Handy item
Cons
  • Discontinued model

Great little frying pan

We have been using the large version at home for many years. I took this slightly smaller one for our new RV as it fits better in the closet. Used it last week to make a complete quick dinner of diced potatoes, onions, peppers and sausage - in an RV. Works great and most importantly easy to clean. I love our electric skillets.

Pros
  • Easy to use
Cons
  • Frequency

May have minor durability issues

May have durability issues. Not to say I had any problems with that, but I had a problem in a semi only with a frying pan that fell on the floor with a broken handle. So it might be a problem if you hit or drop it at home where I use this item, but I'm not done with this item yet. I love these presto pans.

Pros
  • Nice
Cons
  • Requires Socket

Great helper in the kitchen!

My wife likes it. When her old one broke after a few years, I bought her a new one. She cooks meals, especially breakfast, in a snap without messing up a few other pots and pans. My only problem is cleaning. The temperature control turns off, but the hob doesn't detach from the bracket, so cleaning is a bit awkward. But she doesn't mind. Great pan for a family of two.

  • Build quality

A good electric frying pan with a caveat:

I've been using this pan for 10 months now and I'm very happy with it. It's exactly what I've come to expect from an electric skillet in almost every way. I only have one small complaint. The legs keep shaking. To ensure dispatch in a smaller container (and save on shipping costs), the legs are not attached when you receive them and you will need to attach them yourself; it's easy to do. However, the screws holding the legs get lost all the time. I had to tighten the screws 5 times in 10…

Easy to use, easy to store, good value for money

Excellent frying pan for preparing small meals: - good build quality - precise temperature sensor, frying pan heats evenly, responds quickly to temperature changes the turning wheel - non-stick coating the lid works like new after a few months - no problem with food getting stuck in odd corners while cooking - the unit is easy to clean and the cord/plug assembly can be stored inside the pot body without worrying about micro-scratching the coated surface. This pan is suitable for a family of one

Bought the second

We bought our Original Presto pan a few months ago and fell in love with it. We bought it primarily for use in our RV but found how versatile it is. Now we use it almost every day. The original lives in the RV, but our new one stays in the house, so we don't always move it. The difference between the original and this one is only in the lid. Our original frying pan with a raised plastic dome lid that we rarely use. I made this one with a glass lid so we can use it for more different types of…

Super versatile best in kitchen and dining room

This item is great! I've only had it a few weeks so can't confirm its durability, although every other Presto product I own continues to do what it's supposed to without breaking, so I think this one is no exception. Since I got this in the mail I've made all sorts of things - fish/oyster stock, pancakes, hash browns, fried steak (yummy!), even cake! There's so much you can do with it. Another benefit is that it is much more energy efficient than using the top-of-the-line. All energy is…

The perfect frying pan for the small kitchen and the passionate cook.

I love to cook, but I have a small eat-in kitchen with a narrow range and limited worktop space. I do most of my cooking and prep work in a condensed L-shaped area, with the stove on my left and my kitchen sink just around the corner on my right. I put this electric skillet in the "G" corner and use it either as an extension of my stove or instead of it. The surface of the non-stick pan is so smooth that it's perfect for dishes like crab cakes, where I pre-cook various ingredients for the final
