Unlike any Presto pan we've had before.

We've had plenty of Presto pans over the years and because we loved them we've also given them to family members for their holiday homes and caravans, but his is definitely a loser. Prior to this latest, the upper was black, likely covering up some of the marks we've seen now from first use. After a few uses, not only does it look awful, but it's no longer non-stick. We're very careful about how we clean and store it - it actually has its own shelf in a closet on our island so it doesn't get…

Where have you been all my life - Presto Ceramic Grill?

Where have you been all your Presto ceramic grill life? My grandkids love pancakes so I'm a gluten free pancake master. While there are delicious mixes out there, I usually add a little beet sugar and goat milk to every mix I use. And I suddenly cook enough for the army. This grill is perfect for our purposes. Although it's quite large, it's easy to clean and store away. We love the fact that it's ceramic and not Teflon. We have grandkids who are very vulnerable to food additives and toxins so…

Used with no oil all right with one caveat

I read a lot of negative reviews and was reluctant but ordered this model anyway. I brushed it very lightly with vegetable oil and the pancakes browned unevenly on the 300 setting. Somewhat disappointed I removed the oil with soap and water. Heat it up to 300 and let the thermostat turn off the heat when it reaches temperature. I repeated this automatic cycle and then made pancakes *without* oil with the same batter and the results were perfect. In other words, allow the temperature to…

Beware of misleading advertising According to Presto Customer Service

Just a warning as to how this item is being sold. The description says it is a "ceramic" hob, which is likely to worry you if you are purchasing this item. contains no PFOA, but PTFE. PTFE (trade name Teflon) is a generally non-reactive polymer (plastic) used in non-stick materials. Until about 2015, the chemical PFOA was used as a binder to adhere Teflon (PTFE) to metal baking surfaces. PFOA is relatively unstable, but it is believed that most of it is 'burned off' during the manufacturing…
