Thought I could use it dry but doesn't do much in that sense. In his defense, I have a lovebird and two molts, and molts are impossible to poop. When I soak their grates I use them to clean and they are much easier to use than the brush I used. And I thought I would buy one but there are 4!

everything is fine. I tried it dry, slightly moist and without feces. I have found that this works best with a cleaner. My biggest disappointment is that the sponge itself is difficult to clean. A lot of dirt seems to be stuck on the bristles. I think I actually spent more time cleaning the sponge than cleaning the cage afterwards.

This is the best bird cage cleaning/breaking sponge! So glad I found this product. It's that easy to use. I wish I knew about this product long ago. The only thing I would say is that the little red scrubbers are chipping. The nice thing is that these "plastic hairs" fall straight to the bottom of the trap as I've never found them on any surface of perches or bird cages. I don't mind that since I empty the output tray and change the paper last in the cleaning process.

These have always been my favorite cage cleaning pads. Although they are a little more expensive than the last time I bought them. These are very durable pads but over time you will lose some of the little red bristles. It cleans very well if you have soap to remove dirt from the cage. I have used Pet Focus as a sanitizer and Oxyfresh Cleansing Gel as a cage soap which I have just received.
