Appears to be well made but the nose sticks out too much for my vinyl sliding door. The part that catches the latch is fine. but the door doesn't close enough. should probably stick out 1/4 inch or more LESS. I wanted to return it, Amazon said "This item cannot be returned". Called and got a refund.

Couldn't find it on my local HD and it pissed me off. I risked buying them from Amazon not knowing if they would fit my sliding door. They approached. I would only recommend them if none of the HD/Lowes models fit your sliding door.

We bought a new house with a pool and after opening and closing the pool sliders several times someone managed to break the house's original latch. I was able to find it easily on Amazon and received it the next day (thanks Prime). It was very easy to take out the old one and replace it with this one. I love that it doesn't have fixed screw holes so it came in handy to line it up and make sure the door latches, closes and opens. A smooth process is a must! My husband didn't need it either.

We had to replace our existing door latch and lock when the sliding door wouldn't latch. We replaced the lock first because we thought it was just a bad lock but it still didn't actually lock because the hook didn't reach the porter. When I found this one and saw that it looked deeper than the standard 6" door closer that comes with most sliding doors, I decided to give it a try. It was easy and quick to install and after over a month it's still working great with no issues.
