My favorite fineliners!

These are my favorite pens (they and the copy are almost everything I use in my work). They're juicy, waterproof, archival and so smooth. I'm tempted to get a color set even though I rarely use color liners. I've been using them for quite some time and they definitely last longer than microns and the tips hold up really well. Especially 005 since it's the one I use the most and it's the most fragile. Even on cold-pressed watercolor paper! They bleed through regular printer and notebook paperโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Different sized tips ensure accurate marking.
Cons
  • I have doubts

Excellent fine line markers

Benefits: They won't bleed on good paper. I use the classic Moleskine Sketchbook and can use these markers on either side of the page. - When using this pen, the pen lines will not mix with your marker strokes, the pen lines will remain intact. - The size is perfect if you are used to using regular ballpoint pens or classic pencils that you fill with ink. - Makes very clean and very sharp lines with little or no streaking when used with other markers. I let the ink dry and paint over the linesโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Richly pigmented ink, acid-free, fade-resistant, permanent, waterproof, smudge-proof and will not bleed on paper
Cons
  • Requires a power outlet

Smudge-proof and non-waterproof/waterproof

1. You smudge if you touch the ink immediately (no matter what paper you use, I've tried watercolor paper - cold and hot pressed, Bristol paper - smooth and vellum, marker paper, 100% cotton paper and canvas) when you leave it overnight there is only slight smearing. In any case, it smears.2. It is neither waterproof nor waterproof. I like to sketch my work and then use watercolors or other paints and the ink came up immediately and ruined my painting.3. Archival ink on my ass. I callโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Ideal for fine detail and technical applications
Cons
  • Other interesting options are available.
