SHIMANO PRO Bicycle Chainstay Protector - Ultimate Black/Carbon Shield - PRAC0001 Review

I found this item easy to install, simple and effective in terms of design. I padded the item with a couple of zip ties after installation to ensure it wouldn't come loose during my travels. It wasn't necessary, but I wanted extra protection in that area. I really like the look of this item and would buy it again if needed.

This is a great product, very easy to install and does the job. On the other hand, he does not want to stand still and is constantly in motion, bending and twisting. . Maybe it's just my frame. Not entirely happy with this product but will continue to use but use tape or duct tape to hold it in place at the ends.

Very nice product! I didn't use it to protect the chainstays but to protect the upper triangular frame as when going downhill my heels would rub the top of my frame and scratch the paint so I used it to protect the frame fairing from F•• on! Works great and looks very nice.

I bought this for one bike and the Lizardskins version for another. This one is much nicer in comparison - it has an easy-to-clean exterior that can be wiped down if it gets greasy; LS has a porous surface similar to a mouse pad. Also, this one has a non-scratch handle on the inside that prevents it from spinning on the chains. Six months on the bike with no problems. If I need one again I will buy it again.

Wow. This PRO chainstay protector consists of high-quality neoprene in the inner layer and an outer layer with a carbon fiber weave pattern that resembles a tarpaulin/vinyl-like material. Very durable and easy to clean. Much better than my lizard skin spring case in fit, durability and looks. It currently sits on my Diamondback Release 2 (large) and looks like a factory fit. Will definitely buy again, no questions asked.

I love this chainstay protector. It looks great and goes really well with my chainstay. I routed the brake cable along the chainstay and the profile wraps around it easily without bunching or sticking out too much. I installed this on my 54cm Seven and found it ok but doesn't seem particularly secure due to its bulkiness. There was no way I could fit this on the drive side as it interferes with my cranks which seems counterproductive for the chainstay guard. The material is VERY thick and hard, if you have any contours or other shapes it will not work. The velcro seems secure but not particularly attractive or useful. Looks better than the one I had from Lizard Skins which was linen-like material, difficult to clean, shorter and prone to fading. It has a smoother surface that is easier to wash. The velcro on this one is tailored so it can be used on a variety of chainstay sizes. Lizard Skins require you to order your specific size which is difficult to guess when ordering online unlike when buying from LBS. I have mine on a 2013 Giant Escape 3 Hybrid if that helps anyone.
