Uncomfortable: Sport

I liked the idea because I thought the open air in the crook of my arm would be great for reducing sweat and odor. It probably is, but it also meant the elbow pads kept riding up my arm and the velcro strap slipped to the side. Also, there are internal seams that are so thick that they dig into my hands and cause constant discomfort. I actually donated them to a start-up youth derby league less than a month after trying them out.

Cool looks, comfortable and great mobility

I did a little skating about 15 years ago, now I'm 29. I've tried to get back to it and if I try trucks again I'll wear this .Super comfy and I love the retro style. Took some good drops and it definitely helped. Great looks, great feel, great protection and mobility. Can't ask for more. I'm about 205 and 6ft 1in and I wear a size XL. Fits well but could definitely fit someone a bit more. If you are much smaller I would go with more

I wish I had had her twenty years ago.

I have tried various knee pads over the years and have never had a pair that fits and protects as well. Let's just say I've recently returned to skateboarding after a hiatus of almost twenty years. I've been to a place where skateboarding requires you to wear knee pads, elbow pads, wrist guards, and a helmet, which turned out to be pretty good advice. With these knee pads, you won't fall and your mobility will not be affected in the event of a fall.

Pros
  • Amazing
Cons
  • Ugly packaging

It's perfectly obvious

I read all the reviews. People have said they run small and believe me they really do. I am a 175 lb female, 5ft 7in tall. I don't have fat hands but they fit well, I'm so glad I bought the X Large, the pad itself can be a bit big, I sure could run with a big one. Nice solid plastic, and not only the shoulder straps, but also full arm coverage. That's not the case with knee pads, I can't even use them. But I will write about this separately. I'm happy with these elbow pads the way they areโ€ฆ

The band broke on the first fall. not impressed with the quality.

I don't longboard much, especially since it's winter where I'm from. I was driving south for 11 hours, picking up my board and driving around campus when I fell. I was protected by these elbow pads and professional knee pads to protect my tattoos. On impact (my first fall with a pad) my left elbow was completely torn, resulting in complete elbow detachment around the entire pad of the joint. The plastic pad was ok but the material that acts as a strap seems flimsy so I will be in recovery modeโ€ฆ

The 187 killers are much more comfortable and I don't have exposed skin

Not what I expected. I fall with them, go down; I still get injuries from rubbing the skin against the inner tissue as it curls up. I bought the 187 Killers elbow pads as a replacement and you can tell the difference from day one. The 187 Killers Pad is much more comfortable and I don't have exposed skin. Also, I assume that the stiffness of my new elbow pad will prevent weird twisting of the elbow pad like the Pro-Tec elbow pad does. I have four other Pro-Tec products in total, but at least to
