Excellent protection and fit

I bought these for my 15-1 quarter horse who has recently started trimming the inside of his ankle every time we ride. I bought the Large based on other reviews and they fit perfectly. No more ankle cuts and it really improved our trip. I was expecting the boot to show wear where it's cut but nothing so far. Very happy with it.

Pros
  • Excellent fit for me
Cons
  • Fade

Order one size larger! fits Boots

My mare is usually medium height but two people at my stable told me to order a size up. I ordered the large ones and was worried they would be too big - they are actually a bit small. Not too small that she can't put them on, but I have to position the velcro to make her feel better. Be sure to order a size up if you haven't seen the size you're ordering in person!

Looks good but not very durable

I really liked these boots from the start. The color attracted me the most. Big black or white gummies look too intrusive, so I appreciated the brown color for my bay. You are very small. My horse, 14.3 with a size 0 shoe, wore a large one and barely had enough. They would probably be good for riding and competing, but will not stand up to grazing. About $30 is too much to spend on something that lasts less than a month.

Pros
  • practical item
Cons
  • I vaguely remember

Just received today so no complaints. They do exactly what they are supposed to and fit and look great. Thanks to other reviewers who pointed out that the dimensions are a bit small. I have an Icelandic horse that is 13.2 hands and would have ordered a small but thanks to other people's comments I have ordered a medium. To be honest they are tight and I could probably get away with big ones! But they fit, so I'm keeping them.

Pros
  • Easy to read control panel
Cons
  • Crumpled

Big was NOT big.

My purple pair of large professional torches lasted over 24 weeks of 24/7 use when the horse was mostly in a large pasture. Eventually one of them was kicked many times a day and the inside wore out. I was totally impressed that these boots saved my horse from being pulled off. That being said, the new black boots (plus size) I received don't even come close to being plus size. The photo shows how different sizes of flowers. I can't use them at all as the velcro doesn't even wrap around my…

Nothing is as durable as the Professional Choice Headphones

Nothing is as durable as the Professional Choice Headphones. We live in damp conditions and to keep the horseshoe from slipping in the paddock all shod horses wear gaiters. Shiny sequins wear the most - don't know why - but I get 6 months - 24/7 365 wears from them. Upgrade to a new pair for competition. In particular, a horse ruins a pair of batting boots in a cross-country session. At Pro Choice, his competition lanes last about 4 xc before being laid out in the paddock. I've tried different…

Good boots, less abrasion on the shoes

These bell boots have lasted longer than any other pair I have purchased including the rubber buckles. The padding seems to hold the shoe in place much better than unlined boots. I have no problem with moisture around the boot, although the material holds more water than, say, a rubber boot. Thanks to the magnification, I have no problem with the boot tipping over. My only concern is how much money I spent on these boots. A campaign for regular customers would be great. I have a horse that…

Pros
  • Durable finish
Cons
  • There are other interesting options.

Worth the money: Boots

I have to give Tack Shack a great review! I ordered a small chocolate pair only to find that I ordered too small for my quarter horse. I contacted the seller and they had no problem exchanging the boots for a larger size even though they knew I had removed the tags to try them on my mare. Of course I paid the shipping cost to send the shoes back and even put in a stamped envelope to send me a new pair and they arrived within a few days. Tell us about a hassle-free and quick exchange. Tack Shack

Pros
  • Easy to assemble

  • Almost everything ok
