It was cheap but needed maintenance. Others have commented on the filter getting crushed and that happened to me once. My SLK's oil change period is 13,000 miles, but I wouldn't trust that mileage past 5,000, at least without checking it every 1000 afterwards. It's probably best to spend another $6 for man.

I have used over a dozen of these particular filters on two different vehicles. I usually change it every 4,000 miles and the oil every 8,000 miles. No filter on the market is rated for more than 10,000 miles. People complaining here are just confused about the difference between the automaker's declared oil change mileage and the filter's rated mileage. It's far better to swap out the filter for a cheaper one more often than swapping it out for a super-duper expensive one less often.

Today, after 3 days of using this filter, blew off the rubber O-ring, drained all the oil from the filter gap, hopefully stopped in time, not quite sure the tide is not good, but I suspect that too much pressure too much oil at a higher temperature will cause it to blow in my GL550. K&N filters usually look fluffy and tight, although they let more oil or air through. This oil filter is made in Korea and looks like a plain paper filter with fewer wrinkles than even a regular paper filter. I haven't done any scientific testing to be sure, but its design doesn't give me reassurance that it'll be good for the 15,000 miles I typically use premium Mercedes fleece filters. Update: It broke down, downgraded to 1 star. To be honest, these filters are just like the others that don't have an adhesive backing. Body. I found a problem with this type after realizing that the Ecotech filter shrunk in the middle after a short while (M113). After that I planned to just buy boosted filters, but I bought K&N anyway. I noticed that one of the filters I received was missing a pair of o-rings. I had to use the smaller one in the Sprinter I installed it on and hope it doesn't fail.
