Worked well and was a cheaper option at the time of purchase. It's red and "Fram" is yellow. The same filter. Both are made by the same company. The same number of folds.

This is a quality branded filter at a great price. I used this on my 08 Escape Hybrid and it fits perfectly. Comes with both o-rings, although I have to admit I haven't changed the small one in the last 3 oil changes because I simply unscrewed the main body instead of draining the oil through the small cap. It hasn't leaked yet, but next time I'll change it.

Not sure how this filter works? To be honest I think almost every oil filter I've used on my Mazda 3 has had an element twisted and crushed when it was removed. Even original oil filters. What I can say is that the Fram Ultra Synthetic Filter I just took out was in perfect condition upon removal. Depending on the condition, I can fall back on the only filter that has not squeezed.

We have always trusted k&n products for their reliability and performance. This Mazda3 filter is very hard to find! Luckily Amazon carries it! Anyone who owns a Mazda3 with a 2.3-litre engine knows that changing the oil involves one or two extra operations; If I have to go the extra mile, I might as well use a better filter. The ps 7013 is by far the best of any filter I have used and after an oil change there is a significant boost in performance.

Perfect fit for my 2009 Mazda 6 2.5L engine and the price was cheaper than my local auto parts store. I know they switched mid year and some of the 2009 Mazdas have a regular canister type oil filter and some have a cartridge type like mine. Just check before ordering.
