The hearth board broke on the second or third use, but is easy to fix with glue. The mechanism is easy to use, produces smoke and a good amount of embers surprisingly quickly. It still needs to be learned how to know if the right kind of punk is forming, if the right amount has accumulated to make an ember, and how to gently push the fire aside and let the embers breathe.
