Top oil filter

Heavy in the hand, beautiful. The clippings I've seen on the internet match the Purolator charts - this filter has great media. As long as the price is competitive with Mobil One and Fram XG, this will be my extended drain filter from now on.

Pros
  • Top marks for grip and durability from testers
Cons
  • Unfashionable

Buyer warning! Ordered PBL10111 and received L10111.

I have a BOSS filter box with an inexpensive Purolator filter inside. When I first received the filter I could tell that the box had been opened and tampered with. If someone is not careful, they could be completely fooled. Thank goodness I checked the filter before draining the oil.

Pros
  • Cool product
Cons
  • Slightly crumpled

Excellent filter after some tests

Good filter. Goes well with my 3800 II series. I like this filter over the OEM because my car spends more time idling than actually rolling down the road. After opening several brands of filters to check the paper element after replacement, they were found to hold their shape best in the jug and after passing a magnet over the threads these filters performed best. A good thing.

Pros
  • Confident
Cons
  • Crumpled

I have used high mileage Fram filters on my 84 year old Buick for many years and have recently switched to Pure One filters. Much better flow and they keep the oil cleaner than any oil filter I've seen. I'm officially Purolator Pure ONE. CONTINUED: I really liked the capture interface of these filters when they were yellow. Getting them slippery again is a little disappointing. However, these are the best oil filters, so I will always use them.

Pros
  • Stylish and modern design
Cons
  • Has imperfections

Purolator PureOne in oil filter

Purolator filters are the best. They filter very effectively. But they also pay attention to small details. For example, the seal is held on the rim by a slight kink. This will hold the gasket in place. Doesn't sound like much, but if you've ever changed a filter and the gasket is left on the engine and you don't notice. When you start the car, a big surprise awaits you (oil squirts everywhere). This happened to me with the Fram filter and I went back to the Purolator. I won't use anything else

Pros
  • Delivery was very fast
Cons
  • Some problems

Make sure the filter really fits the

I received this product a few weeks ago. Unfortunately I only got around to changing the filter on my 2009 Honda Fit in the last 10 days. Why unhappy? I waited too long to send it back. I don't have a micrometer handy but you can easily see from the picture that the model number listed, PBL 10111, is clearly the one I received and also clearly the wrong ID to match the existing block (see another filter that was removed). Also annoying is that I drove 90 minutes in the neighbor's car with the…
