I really liked this product. As you can see from the photo I've added, it looks great on our patio and porch. We've used them to attach 4WD vehicles to deck and they really make them stand out. They are strong and well made. Previous reviews suggest you may need to trim some of the 4x4's sides to fit these bases, but that's not a problem. Bought this to install railings on my mother's patio. She's in her early 80s and her balance isn't always what it should be. I ordered 2 of these and bought 4x4 racks at my local hardware store. Please note these clamps will NOT fit the Lowes/Home Depot 4x4 weatherproof wood frame. That wasn't a problem with a luggage rack - these collars do not fit on any of the 4x4s.
