Bought this to install railings on my mother's patio. She's in her early 80s and her balance isn't always what it should be. I ordered 2 of these and bought 4x4 racks at my local hardware store. The product does not fit through the mail. He would stop right where the hole meets the beginning of the post edge and go no further. I even tried using a hammer but to no avail. The hole should be slightly larger. Since the posts were new, they didn't have time to stand outside to allow the internal moisture to evaporate. The need for handrails was critical and I couldn't wait a few days to see if the bars would settle after sitting outside. If you are purchasing this item I recommend leaving your mail in the sun for a few days to allow as much moisture as possible to evaporate.
