Works well depending on tank size

I've had Python for a few years now and love it. The green cap holding the tube broke so I bought this to replace the broken tube. It was cheaper than the smaller versions so I figured why not. I have a 45 liter front tank. This is a fully planted aquarium, so I have a lot of organic waste. I find this tube to be too long for my aquarium so it is actually more difficult to maneuver in it. It also clamps the 1" pipe where it meets the green cap. This limits absorption. I find it doesn't suck as…

My current favorite vacuum cleaner!

I have a 125g community aquarium with a gravel bottom. The length of the vacuum chamber is PERFECT so I don't need my hand to go all the way into the tank. The chamber size is also handy as you have a lot more room to separate gravel and dirt. The fitting on the end allows you to insert almost any end of male garden hose into the adapter, allowing you to use almost any length of hose. I attach a 25 foot garden hose to mine and run it through the door to my front yard so I can put wastewater to…

Python Rocks! I could say it sucks, ie sucks the water out of your tank really well lol(: but that might put people off in the review title. I used Python when they were on the market - which means I took mine years old and had to replace it just because i completely stepped on the suction tube and it cracked! It's an extended tube that makes cleaning deeper tanks a lot easier (I have a 55 gallon.) I have one too Extension to make mine a python is longer but that's a different review. All the…

Much better than other brands!

I've had a 75G fresh water tank for 4 years now. I used another popular brand of water change. It did a terrible job picking up dirt, which is also why I spent way too much time and money on battery-powered vacuums to do the vacuuming. They all failed. I decided to try this with a tube and it really works! The downside is that it runs slower than battery-powered vacuums. Foreign language. The long hose fits my 18" tank great and keeps my hands dry. The clear hose makes it easy to see what's…

May be too long for fish and aquatic animals

I thought this 24" vacuum tube was just what I needed for my 24" aquarium with a sandy bottom. I figured that with the longer length, not only would I be able to suck up my sand without putting my arm up to my elbow in the water, but also without sucking up a pile of sand. Both assumptions are correct. Hands won't get wet and sand won't be absorbed. However, the length of the hose prevents heavier particles from going up the hose and down the drain. Even with the python siphon pump turning the…

Absolute Trash is Best at Fish & Aquatic Pets

I have a python hose that I have used to fill holding tanks for years. I have been involved in the fish hobby since COVID and needed reliable siphon performance for my bottom level aquariums. It does not help. Honestly I have a 5 year old hand pumped siphon from another manufacturer that uses absolute rings around this piece of junk. First, the long python hose connector is not threaded properly. So I'm pretty sure it's losing suction there. Second, other than letting silicone get into the…

If you drive the ALERT it will work fine. Handy for big tanks

We've been using Python for about a year I think and after using another brand for a few years this one performs better with ONE exception. The hose is too small for our 29+ tank and we had to replace ALL GASKETS with the pink rubber gaskets you use on garden hoses. Otherwise the system will leak. HOW DOES IT WORK IN OUR LARGE CONTAINERS? This attachment makes cleaning large tanks easier. Originally purchased for a 75 gallon tank that I have yet to set up, this attachment makes cleaning our 36…
