the plastic is very thin, the elements are very thin, easy to bend or damage. Inside the amplifier is a pair of 9014 type bipolar transistors. These transistors are only rated for frequencies up to 150MHz. This is the VHF frequency, nowhere near lower than the lower UHF. The boost advertised is wrong, it works when you are near train stations. It's not worth sending back, I paid €16 - I'll probably use the rotator for something else.

This antenna has a wonderful design, difficult to assemble, but when assembled it gives the best signal, but the amplifier is practically useless. I wish I could combine the amp with another antenna I bought that looked pretty cosmic and cool but was an absolutely horrible antenna. The amp was great but the antenna just couldn't pick up the signal. This antenna can pick up signals, a lot more signals than I've seen other antennas, but the amplifier is rubbish.

I've spent quite a bit of time putting this thing together. quite light construction. The materials used cannot withstand extreme weather conditions, but that remains to be seen. My father-in-law bought one of these antennas from Ollies and I was impressed with the number of channels it could pick up. We live about 40-50 miles from the nearest TV towers and have been able to receive 50 channels all with very little interference. I found the same one here at Revain for about $3 less.
