This actually worked on 2 different BMWs. Save a ton of money by going to the dealer to have a new key programmed. My son bought a blank key for his 1999 BMW. He still had the old key, so he could take the little chip from the new key and put it in his old key and then use this device to program it into the ECU. Initially the device worked as advertised on my 2006 X5/E53 with EWS 4.3. In closing, I would like to say that I am an experienced professional electronics engineer who has an office full of expensive soldering tools, microscopes and other essentials required to utilize the EWS 4.x capabilities of this device.
