Cheesecloth that dies the way you expect

I made homemade ricotta cheese out of it. I doubled the thickness. I also used a single thickness to wrap half a lemon to squeeze the juice without the seeds or pulp. Worked great for both

Pros
  • Enjoyable
Cons
  • Crumpled wrapper

Good quality gauze for cooking

It was good quality gauze and plenty of it - I use mine to strain broth and sauces and also to wrap cheese to keep it from going moldy. It's nice and wide enough to line a colander. My first purchase lasted 4 years but I don't use it often. So convenient and yet cheap. (I didn't appreciate the "easy to clean" aspect - I don't reuse mine, I just throw them away after using them.)

Pros
  • Great design
Cons
  • Can't remember

Must have for homemade broths and bone broths.

I like that it's big and I can cut it to the size of the container and even double it. I mainly use it when making seafood broth for bouillabaisse and choppino. I've never had a problem with shrimp or crab shells. I make 8-10 gallons at a time and straining is quick when the cheesecloth covers the container. I remove most of the heavy solids with a large slotted spoon before straining.

Pros
  • Nice packaging
Cons
  • So-so

The best gauze!

I am ordering a second time. I will never use another one again. We buy cheese from Costco. Wrap it in it, reseal it in a bag or ziploc and it'll be good to the end, about a month. Ideal for dry aged steaks. Wrap in gauze. Place on a paper towel-lined plate in the back of the refrigerator and place over wine corks to allow air to pass through. May aging 10-30 days. The steak will be crispy because the water will run out. So juicy. The original reason, of course, was to strain the homemade…

Pros
  • Wide range
Cons
  • Not sure
