The Silhouette Studio Store has thumbnails of images that are meant to be drawn, not cut, and these pens do a great job of doing that. I have yet to draw my own images in the studio but I think it would be fun and using these pens in my cameo is an added bonus.

I don't know what the last reviewer did. Received the silhouette for Mother's Day. I connected one of the handles and it worked great. I didn't even have to wait for her to load the pen tip. Has worked great from the start. I used silver on black paper and it was very pretty. The silver flickered! I had no bleeding and I only used medium weight card stock. We drew a mermaid on plain paper and that was fine too. No bleeding as another person suggested. Super excited about all we can do!

These pens, although specially developed for the silhouette, are useless in practice. With 3-4 drawing jobs (each no more than 1-2 sheets of paper, e.g. coloring books for children) these expensive little things run out of ink. Say what?. Yes, you read that right - after about a month of light use, these crayons become unusable and add to the cost. Until Silhouette realizes these ailments, I'll be using a known workaround that costs about $3 for a lifetime supply.

I was so excited to get these for my cameo but after getting them I realized I didn't really need them and I rarely get them in any other color than Black used . . I wish they could somehow draw letters etc that are solid rather than just outlines and the ink ran out sooner than expected. I just saw the Silhouette Starter Sketch Pen Set which isn't that much more expensive and has a lot more colors and some black pens which I think would be better.
