In the end it worked.

Used for applique leaf designs. The fabric was gathered according to the pattern, starched and pressed with a hot iron. It can take the heat of a hot iron. Could be a bit stronger for collection purposes. Couldn't write on mylar to make a pattern.

Pros
  • Reuse if needed
Cons
  • Some errors

Not exactly what I was looking for.

Sheets are fine as long as you don't mind the shrinking. I was looking for something that wouldn't melt or shrink from the heat of the iron. After the second use the template shrank and I had to cut another one. Since I used 4 different elements 16 times and the template got smaller, this defeats the purpose of the template. I'm still looking for something thicker and won't shrink.

Pros
  • Made in the USA
Cons
  • Delicate

Will not withstand iron heat

I bought these after reading many reviews. I wanted to make templates for the appliquΓ© of a baby patchwork quilt. I starched the edge of the fabric and pressed the edges to the template with an iron. It did NOT withstand this little heat. My template is all wobbly and garbled before I even finish a part. A complete waste of $ if you want to apply heat to them at all. They aren't fat either.

Pros
  • Heat resistant mylar pattern material will not melt
Cons
  • Not sure
