💡 Convenient Direct Wire Power Cord for Valentine V1 Radar Detector: Radar Mounts Review

Had to re-solder the wire on what I got which seems lame given the simplicity of the device but quality issues always occur. After taking care of it, it worked fine. Although I think I could build my own if I wanted to take the time to solder.

Quality cable and easy installation. However, as mentioned in another review, the RJ-11 jack is too small and does not support the connection. I've wedged a piece of folded manila paper between the body of the connector and the latch that locks it in place, but that prevents you from separating it (no tweezers to pry the paper out) and putting it away if you park in a spot where you might worry about someone who then stole it. It would get five stars if it had the right fork.

The product is technically functional. Connected to power and ground, which was easy. Spent time removing plates and such to get the wire through and get it nice and clean. But as soon as I connected the plug I quickly found that the plug was loose and wiggling up and down causing a momentary power cut and the V1 restarted. I really liked how the wire transitions into the weave at the end. This gives it a nice flexible range for easy use. If it wasn't for the plug which is a bit loose this…

The product was perfect and easy to install. It came with cables long enough to fit any size vehicle and owner's desired position in the vehicle without the need for additional length. The only downside was they didn't add the heat of pushing through with the connector and repeated plugging and unplugging caused the ends to fray and open. I have experience and extra materials so I took it apart and cleaned it. No problems so far and I doubt I will have any problems in the future
