🔐 RAM-HOL-UN7TU X-Grip Tether: Enhanced Security for UN7 RAM X-Grip Phone Holders Review

I have had several ram mounts for my bike with over 30-40k miles each. One of the rubber grip pads slipped off at about 75 mph as I coasted down the freeway, and I didn't have time to grab the phone as it flew past me. The phone didn't work well and was a total loss. I bought some replacement tips with super glue but also got two of these tethers for my bikes. Very easy and quick to use every time I go in and out. The $10 investment would have saved me $800 if I had known about it beforehand.

Better design needed. Just remove the notch "r" and it shouldn't tear at that point. I use this on my 10+ grade and it keeps tearing where the "r" is engraved. I no longer buy these. Shame seems nice and thick too, but that design flaw doesn't make it worth it. Always been a ram mount customer but may need to look for another alternative. Given the iPhone 6's design, the rubber bumpers on the Ram X-Grip grip against the volume up and down buttons or the ringer/mute button. The workaround is to insert the iPhone between the jaws of the plunger's X-handle so that the upper bumper arms are directly under the volume down button.
