Great upgrade from the original

Bought these for my 1997 tj, it had the original shock absorbers which started to leak. The Ranch is a defiantly less stiff ride than my old ones, but they didn't allow for as much road bouncing. Definitely recommend.

Pros
  • Stylish and modern design
Cons
  • Infinitely sluggish

They replaced the original shock absorbers on my TJ jeep. The shocks were easy to install, removing the old shocks took patience. They immediately changed the jeep's handling, giving it better on-road handling and improved off-road capabilities.

Pros
  • Very impressive
Cons
  • Modern

Perfect fit for my TJ '02

You really can't go wrong with Rancho in my opinion. Facades are easy to install. Rear shocks - bottom bolt - as easy as peeling a pear. Upper Screws. Oh God. but i have them wow. What a job - this obviously has nothing to do with the quality of the dampers, but I thought it would be a good idea to include them when DIYing.

Pros
  • High marks for support and durability from testers
Cons
  • Ugly packaging

Great addition to my '98 TJ Sport, smooth ride

They replaced badly worn shock absorbers so I expected an improvement in ride. The result was better than I expected. Softer on the track but firmer on the road. They went through fairly easily (trick: remove tire to get to mounting nuts, spray mounting nuts the night before to loosen them). In general, the handling when driving has become much better.

  • Best
Cons

Stiffer ride, good value for money

My 2000 TJ still had stock shock absorbers. So you can imagine how much better they are than Chrysler's 20-year-old design. Preserved shock absorbers and steering stabilizer. Now drives like new – or even better. I can't comment on the ease of installation as I ordered them from my local store for the lowest price while they were doing other work. Saved my joints.

  • Complete kit

  • Some cons

From trolley to smooth ride

My 2000 Jeep Wrangler was a bit bumpy for my liking when I bought it, so I decided to replace the suspension. I kept the original springs but swapped out the shocks for these ranchos and the ride has improved significantly. I used to joke that I used to go kart, but now my Jeep handles most bumps smoothly and off-road driving is a lot better too.

Pros
  • Finally bought
Cons
  • Not sure

Excellent Ride Fits Replacement Parts

Put these on a TJ with HR springs and you'll love the ride. Now to be honest I've replaced the original shocks and springs which have done 165,000 miles but now I really enjoy driving. I also supplied a Rancho steering damper that was part of my order. So too. Not too mushy, but not so hard that it knocks out your kidneys. I ride 50/50 on the highway and off-road so I can confirm them in both conditions. Don't let the low price put you off. Quality.

Pros
  • Perfect for Outdoors
Cons
  • Faulty

Perfect quality for the price

Excellent punches. They flattened my jeep. They fit my 2006 Jeep Wrangler Rubicon without restriction. Not the ranch's fault, but the rear shocks were incredibly difficult to replace. I had to pull out the gas tank and inner fender containers to cut off the rusty bolts holding the original shocks in place. This is definitely an upgrade from the original at a good price. I have headroom in the rear and 2-inch spring-loaded spacers up front. I had them 2 months. Will be updated with age. Update…

Pros
  • Useful not only for its intended purpose
Cons
  • Communication with seller
