Quality product at a great price.

This damper completes the complete lift kit I installed on my Jeep Wrangler JKU. All of the Rancho products I purchased in this kit, including these shocks, are high quality at a great price. Installation was easy and the adjustable settings are perfect for fine-tuning your driving style.

Pros
  • Good value for money
Cons
  • Only available in black

Excellent shock!

Excellent product. Very high quality. For reference, these rear shocks come with a high quality hard plastic boot that fits nicely on the rear of a Jeep Wrangler. I had a rear shock with a rubber boot and they just sagged. The Rancho boots snap in, protect well and look great!

Pros
  • A sea of positive emotions
Cons
  • So far so good

Great off-road damper, adjustable I don't think so.

These are great dampers, they are comfortable for a lifted car and will be used again, especially considering the money required for alternatives like Bilstein or Fox. The reason they only got 3 stars is because one of the main reasons we bought them was because they are adjustable. We understand you'll never get close to a standard ride with the car raised, but in our opinion there's no adjustment there. Yes, there is a scale of 1 to 9, but we're here to tell you that it could only be 1 and 9โ€ฆ

  • handy thing

Significantly improve drivability.

These shocks have greatly improved the handling of my 2013 Jeep Wrangler JK Unlimited. I have a 2 inch lift kit on my jeep so this is the perfect length. I recently bought new tires and after the mechanic drove my jeep to the store entrance and lift, he came and picked me up. He told me that my shock absorbers should be blasted because jeeps usually drive very hard and my shock absorbers don't offer the same resistance as he is used to. He said when he drove my Jeep into the shop it drove likeโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Heavy Duty Construction
Cons
  • Expensive

ATTENTION defective shock absorbers

I ordered a pair at the front (RS999329) and rear (RS999330) for my JKU and one of the dampers on both pairs was defective. My 6 year old was able to compress one of the rear shocks I received and one of the front shocks wasn't much better. Shame as it looked like they had been returned before (the box is open and the defective front shock is missing the hardware). I called Rancho customer service and they said I couldn't compress either of them that easily and as a couple they should compressโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Everything is fine!
Cons
  • Repair
