Thinner than expected

I was a bit disappointed with the page thickness but maybe that's the standard for most art magazines (this is my first). I use a mixed media technique to create my pages using acrylic paint, glue, glaze etc. I was hoping the sides would be strong enough to apply acrylic paint without plaster, but they didn't and they curled up a bit. . I haven't gesso the page yet, so this might solve the problem.

Solid Art Magazine on Fine Art Paper

Just received today and couldn't be happier. I'm new to art journaling and wanted something durable that would stand up to rough handling - I'm sure this will do the job. It's a lot thicker than I expected; All pages are manila folder stock. The cover is very thick cardboard. While I can understand some of the concerns about seepage, I think a good coat of plaster should solve the problem. While I'm sure it will take a while to finish, I'm so pleased with the quality and price that I'll…

Not the weight you might be looking for.

I didn't like that each side needed a coat of plaster or varnish as a primer so my sides didn't show through! This is required for ALL pages of serious art or even writing. My 32lb semi-gloss inkjet paper is thicker and more durable. It's better than my 20 pound Epson Bright White. Also on the question of whether it contains acid, I have not received an answer and have not been able to find this information so far. So disappointed. For me the Strathmore 400/500 series is much better if you need

Good magazine! suitable for notebooks and notepads

I love the large cream colored pages and the smooth surface. The inside of the front cover has a nice storage pocket and an elastic band on the book cover that keeps everything snugly closed. On the other hand, the binding doesn't let the book lie flat in some places - I have to put another book under the first few pages so the entire width is even in height, and there are gaps in the middle pages. who find it difficult to lie down. Not so hot what's up. I glued the front and back inner covers…

Copic markers are translucent. It's like a manila cardboard folder

I was very impressed when it first arrived. I read all the reviews and it seemed to me that almost any medium can be used with this sketchbook. I bought it to draw and use markers. Does not happen!. Copic markers not only extend to the bottom of the page, but also to the next page below. And I just lightly drew a spot with a marker to try. I am extremely disappointed. It doesn't wash well either; and I'm not talking about stroking over dark pencil lines with a pink eraser. A white eraser on…

AWESOME art magazine!

My new favorite art magazine! I really LOVE this magazine. The paper is good, medium/heavy weight. And while the description doesn't state exactly how much it weighs, I'm guessing it weighs around 110 pounds. I like the large page format. Mine arrived with no defects as mentioned by other reviewers. mine was perfect I use a lot of water based mediums in my journal so I paint over the pages before I start work as I want the colors to move and flow. I found the magazine paper held up very well…

The cover is creased, but at least the pages are intact.

Based on the reviews I read before purchasing, I had high hopes for this sketchbook. I was looking for something with thick paper because I use all sorts of media (light watercolor, acrylic, ballpoint pen, pencil, ink, etc.). Haven't painted on it yet as it literally arrived about an hour ago. However, the paper looks good, it's thicker than the other sketchbooks I like. The tone of the paper is a little creamier than I expected, but that's not the deciding factor. It looks like he's doing his…
