A slight play is built into the fit to allow the arms to open and close. This means that the phone might move a bit. It's okay, but I wanted to record a video and there was too much movement, the images were very shaky. For normal use this would be an excellent mount.

To be honest I don't think any other phone mount can outperform RAM mounts. You can literally compose the attachments however you want, provided you have the details for what you want to do with them. Additionally, this thing can probably get hit by a car and still clip your phone to the windshield like nothing happened, although I wouldn't recommend that anyway. It might be a pricier phone mount, but few things compare to it.

This bracket is indispensable on my boat. I've been through way too many non-working suction style phone mounts. It's bombproof. Holds up, squirms and squirms and doesn't disappoint in the cold like many others. Add to that the spring-loaded kung fu grip on your expensive device. When I move my cell phone from the truck to the boat, I leave it in the holder without fear. I was drawn to this item by a good fishing friend and it hasn't let me down in a couple of years. I love that the suction cup works every time and never falls off like inferior devices. You actually rotate the base to create suction on the glass. It just works. I can say that it will be very durable compared to cheaper solutions bought before (used until they broke). The suction cup base design is good - small footprint but it really sticks.
