Fun and Easy Way to Build Your Own Computer

According to my experience, this starter kit was perfect for someone like me who is new to the world of single board computers. The kit contained everything I needed to get started including the board, cables, power supply, and even a helpful guidebook. With easy set up, I was able to build my own functioning computer in no time. The kit is also customizable, allowing for flexibility and creativity in building. The only downside is that it may not be suitable for those with advanced knowledge…

Pros
  • Easy to set up, customizable
Cons
  • Not suitable for advanced computer users.

Buy the Pi separately. You don't need this set.

Incredibly overpriced for what it is. Buy it first at sparkfun for $40 cheaper. For two people, the "components" included in the kit cost about $10 max. A case can also cost a few dollars. So you pay 130 (or 160 at Revain) for a box. Literally a box. I don't see a premium of $70 to $100 here. Sorry, but I just don't see it.

Pros
  • Electronics
Cons
  • too stupid

PERFECT Starter Kit

My first kit I got from CanaKit. Don't get me wrong, this is a great kit too, but you definitely need a monitor, mouse and keyboard. This kit includes everything except the monitor. Since I have been using a laptop for several years, I no longer have these spare parts. Buying a monitor is not a problem at all. The only thing that the CanaKit has an advantage is the power button. You have to turn off the Pi before turning it off, but that "doesn't actually turn it off". It just puts the system…

Pros
  • Computer and Accessories
Cons
  • Not as good as it says
