I'm not sure premium drum brake pads are as important as the drums themselves. However, I tend to buy higher quality compounds in the hope that the composition is a little better. Maybe I'm kidding myself, but at least they work well.

Replaced OEM 2002 Camry brake pads 6 months ago. The first picture shows these new Raybestos sneakers. Both of my rear brakes have been making a lot of squeaking noises lately, so I decided to check them out. This pad issue only affects my 2001 Toyota Rav4 (probably). I also bought drums, pads and discs but the problem was only with the pads. The dealer said that the lever post was too close to the edge of the pad and therefore the lever could not be installed. Kind regards. I don't know where these shoes were made but the quality is bad. Right out of the box they felt a bit cheap compared to my original Toyota brakes. However, I installed them. Big mistake. Soon I heard an intermittent squeak/squeak coming from one side that actually got louder. I thought maybe it would go away with time, maybe because of a break in period or something.
