Super Accurate - Spike Finder

I've tried all the different marking tools and this is my current favorite. The standard scoring knife is denser than the scoring pen. Another thing I like is the ability to make very tight marks at around 1/16th. Other writers cannot get used to fewer eighths. A magnetic stud finder is also useful.

Pros
  • Lots of positive vibes
Cons
  • Some difficulty

Great carving tool too!

This is very useful for other applications. I use it to clip things out when needed for fine tuning. The serrated blade stays nice and sharp for a long time, depending on what you're cutting. I cut vinyl floors and even the Razorscribe profile helped me get the cuts square.

Pros
  • Certified

Cool idea but misses the mark

I was glad to get something I could use for drawing that gave me more consistent results than pencil and pads. The shape of the blade causes the score to shift if you push too hard. Make it easy on yourself and good luck when you see the sign. It's very easy to change depth and can be used in hard-to-reach places, but accuracy is an issue. Sometimes the old school is the way to go.

Pros
  • High marks for support and durability from testers
Cons
  • Stock availability

Poor Quality Plastic Tool

This tool is made of soft plastic and poorly shaped. Mine had just come out of the box and looked like it had been rolling on the bottom of a tool box for a few weeks. It looks like the Chinese made one you buy on the fly at checkout for $4.99, not the US made one that sells for $25. I am sending this back and I can try the aluminum version.

Pros
  • Good Price
Cons
  • Thin

Continuing my search for the perfect marking tool

Continuing my search for the perfect drawing tool I bought one of these and gave it an honest test. I got the plastic version, thought it was overpriced before I bought it, but it's a quest. The tool is really well thought out and solves many of the problems I faced with my homemade versions. Specifically the use of a magnet to hold the blade. Here my criticism. Step 1/16 vs infinite customization. The movement of the blade in the tool. (Could be better in metal versions but I might not cry)…

Pros
  • Good product for the price
Cons
  • Vanish
