Easy setup - audio and video accessories

This is the easiest remote control I've ever programmed. The minute I put the battery in the TV turned on and off and there was a volume control. As mentioned, getting the all-important channel switching control was an extra step, but my unit had a separate EASY guide. I would still say this is the easiest thing I've ever programmed.

Pros
  • Big selection
Cons
  • Too stupid

Good remote control for those who need basic TV functions

Very easy to program and use. I needed a remote control just to turn on the TV, change the volume, and switch to the fire stick. This remote control was perfect. I've noticed that most reviewers say this is for seniors, but I'm young and tech savvy and I find this remote perfectly priced for those who want basic control functionality. I have an expensive multifunction remote for my living room, but I just didn't need one for my bedroom.

Pros
  • Don't waste too much time
Cons
  • Negative impression

Good, but limited.: Accessories and consumables

The remote control is limited here; Its goal is to be cheap and easy to use, and the two-button device does just that. However, devices like TVs and cable boxes have hundreds of important sub-commands, and this simplified remote doesn't have any options for them. In other words, this remote performs basic functions (on/off, changing channels, etc.), but in no way replaces "real life" remotes such as a factory TV or a much more detailed remote from a cable company.

Pros
  • Cool Stuff
Cons
  • don't know anymore

Great for people like me who still use a CRT TV and tuner box

Well my remote control on my Toshiba 36" CRT TV has finally died and rather than replace the TV (which most of you probably would) I decided to find a new remote control. After looking around I settled on this one because a) it has a clean layout (not a million buttons I don't need) b) volume and channel controls are easy to find c) I don't like boxy) the buttons glow in the dark (they don't light up - it's a glow-in-the-dark material) e) I receive over-the-air TV and it can properly and easily

Pros
  • Nice packaging
Cons
  • I'll write back later

Nice design but not all functions work

First of all, I like the shape of this remote control - it's belt-shaped and fits comfortably in the hand. And I like the two large volume and channel buttons as they are the most commonly used buttons. Also, the 5 light buttons glow in the dark for a long time after being exposed to light. Convenient function. However, the channel number buttons are difficult to use as they are rigid and close together. Also, the menu function hasn't worked on my GE TV since about 2000. I've tried entering…

Pros
  • Satisfied so far
Cons
  • Only available in white

Some buttons do not work

I was using an RCA 2 remote control (RCRH02BR) instead of an RCA RE20QP80 TV and TV/DVD remote control. It was easy to set up without having to constantly consult the user manual for help. It works pretty well for changing channels and adjusting volume. I like the large buttons that are easily accessible for both large and small hands. The remote control isn't too complicated, with all sorts of buttons, just like my original TV/DVD remote (the DVD option hasn't been used since we connected the…

Pros
  • 1 year trial
Cons
  • Minor repairability

Recently our cable/internet provider (Cox) switched to a fully digital encrypted signal. The Cisco DTA 250HD Mini Box is now required for ALL televisions that were previously connected directly to the house cable. With this mini box converter, all TVs without a real set top box can still receive an encrypted digital signal. Your remote had minimal TV control; He just turned on the TV and adjusted the volume. So you need two remotes - yours and the TV's - for the full functionality we had BEFORE

Pros
  • GOLS certified
Cons
  • Available in black only
