Thumbs down; for remotes

The RCR314 remote was supposed to have a backlit keyboard for $11.99 but doesn't have it. The RCR313 is said to have a partially backlit keyboard for $9.99. I called the company and asked why my RCR314 didn't light up the entire keyboard, thinking mine might be defective. You said that the OK button only lights up when the light button is pressed. So what makes it $2 more expensive than the RCR313 with a partially backlit keyboard that's probably just an OK button. Bad product description. Send

Pros
  • Confident
Cons
  • Damaged

At least it works, but when you try to use it with something like Roku the button configuration sucks. My main complaint concerns the middle buttons between the channel buttons and the volume buttons. Crammed into this small circle are the navigation bar and the Enter key in the middle. If you don't have baby thumbs, it's very difficult to press those little buttons accurately. Again, for a $7 remote, what's impressive is the fact that it controls a regular LCD TV and an older Roku.

Works like a charm - remote controls

My mother's new Vizio TV came with a remote control so small with even smaller numbers that she couldn't use it. I bought this RCA RCR314WZ remote that has three big buttons and dual navigation with a backlit keyboard so it can see numbers and change channels. It was easy to set up, easy to use and she loves it. I bought a second one because I just bought a 43 inch Vizio Smart TV and the damn thing came with the exact same remote! (Shame on the Vizio!) Anyway, this remote works great, I didn'tโ€ฆ

Works with Roku 3 for accessories and accessories

It took about 5 minutes for the controller to work with my TV and Roku 3. Some other reviewers said it doesn't work with Roku 3. but I didn't have any problems. You must have line of sight to the Roku and the TV for it to work. As already mentioned, the middle keys are very close together, but that's not the deciding factor for me. Also, there is no working back button on Roku 3. I tried every button on this remote control. There's a menu button that sends you back to the home screen, but it'sโ€ฆ

Close, but no cigar: remote controls and accessories

A bit disappointing. On the plus side, the remote works, you can just point it at the ceiling and click, the price is reasonable, and as a plus, the standard programming supports the Samsung TV decoder, which is very handy if you have a Samsung TV. On the other hand, the body of the remote control is too short (6-3/4 inches) for easy one-handed operation when selecting a channel. Keys. The lack of tactile indicators built into the buttons makes working in the dark a good thing or a bad thingโ€ฆ

Works best with ROKU in Accessories & Supplies

Glad this remote works with my Apex brand TV for input selection. No other remote has done that to date, not even my wired remote could. As I recently cut the wire, I had to switch between two remotes to turn the TV on and off, adjust the volume, and a ROKU remote to keep up with everything to work for others. I was fed up and found this remote via a Google search for "universal remote that works with ROKU". It was probably the easiest remote control I've ever programmed. The challenge for meโ€ฆ

Good remote control; Very few buttons are on

Good remote control. It's easy, just press the button you want. Programming was easy. Minus (for me) โ€” backlight. The description is correct. It is "partially backlit". I imagined something more. A short press of the backlight button will illuminate the power button and also the OK button and the circular ring around it with up/down/left/right arrows showing the volume up and down and the next channel and next Show Channel Down. If I can find the tiny "Light" button in the dark, I'll definitely

Oh FAST! but not really! replaces a handful of other remote controls.

This is a nice simple design with fairly large buttons but with a control bar for navigation and play/pause/record functions etc. I find them absolutely essential for cable or streaming content on modern TVs become. Everything else either has a million tiny buttons with even fancier labels, or assumes you're just watching live TV on a TV built in 1972. Thank you RCA for at least trying to do something in between those unattractive extremes. I hoped so. runs my LG Smart TV, AT&T cable box andโ€ฆ
