For my Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo, I needed a few more feet of cable to get from the rear view camera mounted above the license plate to the front windshield, which is opposite the dashcam. This extension did the trick and I had a lot more and didn't have to worry about cable pull or sharp bends. Worth a few dollars more.

As if it would fit perfectly with the camera and then the original cable. Routed outwards and along the frame (Most but not all were in the cable guard. I'm hoping it holds up under the car as it feels a little light like a headphone extension but time will tell. No problem. Better than trying to lengthen the end of the 4 pin camera.

The DVR I bought this for was a different brand but the general purpose was exactly the same. I have a backup camera but the cable to the mirror was only 6ft from ideal setup. I ordered this 9.8ft cable to make sure I had a little more 'slack' to get the setup looking 'good'. That helped. I was able to keep the install short so everything looked OEM.

I ordered this product based on a customer review of the VanTop rearview mirror system. The review said they needed an extension to complete the rear camera installation. I was glad I ordered it with my VanTop unit, so the installation for my pickup truck wouldn't be complete until I got one of these add-ons. The entire system works as advertised with crystal clear video. This is a great system and I would buy it again if the need arose.

I bought this to extend the cable that came with ILIHOME DVR DSLR, 7 inch touch screen. 4 pin 2.5mm will fit but there must be a wiring error or an open/short because when I use this cable the camera stops working. I also tried returning Amazon but the cable doesn't fit. I will try directly with the seller. Disappointed that it didn't work, the materials seem to be of good quality. Update - I received an email from the seller and they are refunding the money, excellent service gives four stars.

The male end of the cable was very loose, possibly the wrong size. Connect both ends of this cable together and feel that they are different sizes. at the ends of the camera, for example, small 4- or 5-pin plugs. I know ! I installed the backup camera and ran 18 feet of wire. Only to find out I was 2ft shorter and figured I could just use this cable on the mirror/monitor end and not have to redo the whole cable. NO!
