Factory gear oils are not as good. They say that oil can be driven 100 thousand, but by 30-40 thousand it darkens and wears out. They can't handle the heat, so towing or hard starts wear out the factory oil quickly. I mix D6 and D4 to get stronger locking and longer lasting oil in my Toyotas.
