Reese 50140 Custom Fifth Brackets Review

When ordering this kit, order from eailer or Reese. I ordered this kit and it didn't have enough bolts, nuts, washers etc. And the front brackets I received were passenger side brackets, not knowing how long it would take to replace them I cut one of the brackets into pieces and had to fabricate it. yourself to make it work.

Disappointed for a number of reasons. The paint on the steel brackets has peeled off and there are rust spots. They had to be sanded and repainted. The instructions were complex, involving multiple vehicle models and applications intertwined in one set of instructions. Difficult to separate and "get” the relevant details. After all, this is meant to be a quick install kit and expensive. If it saved time it would be valuable, but it took several hours to install.

This set was good and terrible at the same time. Without a video from erailer.com to clear up the confusion in the instructions, it would be very difficult for them to follow alone. The brackets were great and fit my truck perfectly, but I found I was missing a lot of parts. Attention buyers, I did not receive the correct quantity of screws, washers and hex nuts for the installation. Luckily my cousin has a garage so we were able to find enough parts to make it work.
