Just make sure you keep it lubricated and it will work just fine.

I have several of these and I have several stainless steel models. They will freeze on you unless you soak them in oil. If I don't unlock it for more than a few months I have to spray it with WD40 and push the button.

Pros
  • This is amazing
Cons
  • Expensive

Very poor design, best suited for clutch locks

This little guy is sold in two different sizes: 4" and 1 3/8" dual use. But it has a removable sleeve that you remove to use with 1 and 3/8, but when you remove it you have to remove the o-ring that is used to align the lock, but you can use the o-ring Do not use ring with 1 3 /8 . /8 pin so you can't block it. Do not buy this dual function lock. Very bad design.

Pros
  • Easy to read control panel
Cons
  • Cable is shorter than other picks

Just didn't quite fit

Stock Tundra 2014 just towed so I know the receiver is fine. It was too short to fix, I needed 1/32 or 1/16 more shaft. I had to return it. Note: Even though I had Prime, I had to pay part of the shipping cost. So I won't be ordering another one if I can just test them out at a dealership with no extra return shipping costs. Prime is losing value for me.

Design shouldn't rely on such a fragile detail to make it useful.

If you use the smaller size, it is difficult to close without the o-ring, but the o-ring cannot fit through the receiver hole, so you need to remove the o-ring, insert and put the o-ring back on, otherwise I can't attach it. I know it's only a matter of time before the o-ring rots and falls off or I drop it and lose it. Design shouldn't rely on such a fragile detail to make it useful.

Pros
  • Easy to use
Cons
  • Some problems

Buy something better

Don't buy! Although it is a locking pin, it is not an unlocking pin. You will eventually have to change the hitch ball and the lock will eat/stick and you will get stuck. You need to tear or cut it off. Luckily, 2 handles back and forth break this pen, so it won't take you too long. When you're done, say Reese's Peanut Butter Cups should be sued to change their name because those peanut butter cups are awesome and this company sucks. You can even throw away your rusty stainless steel clutch.

Pros
  • Dope πŸ”₯
Cons
  • No instructions

Not for 2014 Tacoma Factory Clutch

Downgraded to 1 Star. I lost my key so I had to cut the lock. With a cut-off wheel it took about 5 seconds. I'm not sure if it's even worth bothering with. To my surprise, it didn't fit my 2nd generation (2014) Toyota Tacoma with the factory towing package. The hitch receiver was too wide for the lock. I've tried a few other trucks with much heavier Class V weight distribution hitches and they fit perfectly. I think the Tacoma hitch is just wider than most. Strange. After sharpening the needle…

look elsewhere suitable for exterior accessories

I'm only giving this a 1 because I can't give it a lower rating. This is the second purchase I've made and will never buy again. This one burst when I unlocked it for the FIRST TIME after removing the packaging. The first one I got was from Wally World and it lasted at least a summer. One day I went out and the lock cover was on the floor. At first I thought I forgot to lock it, but then I saw that the molding holding the locking pins was damaged. Luckily the pin stayed in and I didn't lose my…
