Testing my chilled maple syrup

Easy to use! They brought acorn oil, which stank throughout the house. I checked my maple syrup after calibrating it and it was 67 brix (cold syrup). Do not test boiling hot syrup. I like it and am happy with it. Just not enthusiastic about the smell of calibration oil.

Honey Moisture Refractometer

I bought this honey moisture refractometer for a great price of $18.95 compared to $80.00 at most honey bee catalogues. The only thing that isn't mentioned in the add-on's content description area is that it comes with calibration fluid, which is very important. I have used it and it works great, I would recommend it to any beekeeper.

Easy to use and accurate.

Let me say good build quality first. It has a nice solid feel. I had other refractometers that looked almost like toys. The real test, however, is how it works. It's easy to calibrate. It comes with a small bottle of diopter oil and a polished glass reference block. Following clear, well-written instructions, I calibrated the instrument in minutes.2. It seems pretty accurate. I know many beekeepers buy it to test their honey, but I use it to measure sugar levels in fruits and moisture levels in
