For waterproofing

I use this for waterproofing, applying a base coat of wax to shoes and boots when polishing them, and to prevent rusting on weapons when I'm storing them. I wish it came in a larger container or the ability to buy more in bulk.

Great for polishing and conditioning wood

I make brass and copper jewelry and have tried this wax to help preserve the patina after heating the metal. After two months, the colors are still beautiful. There is a strong smell of shoe polish when applied, but the smell does not linger. A little goes a long way.

excellent product suitable for wood care products, waxes and oils

The smell was not a problem for me - it smells like shoe polish and disappears quickly. In terms of pack size, this is not a product you want to use in a large pack for many years. A little to go a very long way. I have used it on wood carved artwork and the results have been stunning and I have used it on porous paperclay surfaces and jewelry as a protective coating. The price is comparable to any other quality product of this type and I consider it an investment. I love Renaissance Wax Polish

Easy to apply, looks great on oil

This is my first time using this product. I applied it with part of my t-shirt, but it could also be applied with a finger, paper towel, or other cloth. It's very simple My Finish: American Walnut Oil stain 10 applications untreated Linseed OilRenaissance Wax The oil was dried well before waxing. The wax added some shine to the finish but didn't change the color or texture. It filled no open grain. The tree has a little more grip. I am very happy with the end result. I intend to use this…

Renaissance Wax Polish

This Renaissance wax worked very well on the wooden stocks and blued barrels of my rifles and pistols. It glides on smoothly and dries quickly, leaving a very thin finish that can be wiped off and buffed to a high shine in just seconds after application. I was able to easily remove light wax residue in the tiny cracks with a clean, soft-bristled toothbrush. The thin coating that this wax provides lasts quite a long time and together with the coat of gun oil I think it should provide good…

Gives an attractive shine but the smell is awful

This material is easy to use and I have not noticed any odor by simply taking the lid off and putting it on on. my desk, but when I put my nose to it or started using it, the smell of turpentine/white spirit was CONSTANT. You shouldn't use this indoors without crazy ventilation. I put this on a polymer clay bowl two days ago and the bowl still smells so not sure if I can give it the way I planned. It's easy to apply (works best with a cloth, but I used paper towels as a last resort), dries…

Amazingly GREAT!

This material is absolutely amazing! It is very easy to apply and polish. Actually, I would even say that it happens by itself. It's been around since the 50's and is used in top museums and art around the world. Smells a bit like shoe polish, not bad at all. Leaves absolutely no waxy feel, fingerprints or residue. GENERAL! Visit their website [.] and read some very impressive data. This product is suitable for ANY MATERIAL, including clothing and shoes. I bought it for my polymer clay…

Used by museums and conservationists around the world. And I

Renaissance Wax was originally developed for the British Museum in London to revitalize and protect antiquities and artifacts. It is a microcrystalline wax obtained from oil refining. Luckily, it's also available for regular home use to protect our own valuables from the damaging effects of moisture, heat, dust, environmental degradation, aging and normal wear and tear. Thanks to its high moisture resistance, it creates a barrier against the above threats while creating a durable glossy finish.

Pros
  • Components Included: Jewelry Making
Cons
  • There are other interesting options.
