It got a little warm the first time

It took about an hour to warm up the first time. I thought I had a bad lightbulb but decided to wait. It works very well and I like the quality of this company's products.

Pros
  • Best in its niche
Cons
  • Reliability

I used them upstairs in the chicken coop.

I used them over a pole in a stable on very cold nights to prevent frostbite. The first one worked so well I bought 4 more, one arrived broken but was replaced without question.

Pros
  • High test scores for hold and durability
Cons
  • Out of style

Good quality. Accessible.

Affordable alternative to what is sold in pet stores. Takes a long time. Be sure to use a lamp with a power of more than 60W, otherwise the lamp may burn out. Use with chickens. I like this because we don't need to have a glow and they have a natural day/night cycle as that just creates heat.

Pros
  • Great for a small home
Cons
  • Not the best

This ceramic heater will keep about 5 chicks warm 24/7 without the horrible GLOWING RED light. Unlike the more popular and widely used infrared lamp, this ceramic heater does not have a built-in light source. which allows the chicks a lot of rest and does not disturb their light-related circadian rhythm. Always provide sufficient fresh drinking water! Need help warming up your chicks? brooders and/or they are silent or panting with their heads down, the temperature is probably too high. Raise…

Pros
  • Hands-Free Operation
Cons
  • Modern

Good product, difficult value to judge for chickens

I use this in a small/medium sized coop. We have 11 chickens. We live in New Hampshire which can get very cold on some winter nights. This heater looks beautiful and feels like ceramic. I hang it from a lighting cord in the middle of the chicken coop. Our chicken coop is not insulated, but the doors and windows are closed at night, with no drafts. I wish I could ask my chickens if that makes a difference in the coop. The thermometer on the wall inside indicates that the temperature is 10…

Pros
  • Few competitors
Cons
  • Negative experience

>> DOES THE JOB for heat lamps and terrarium mats

> Does the job. Radiant heat without light. My Senegal parrot loves it. Georgie's day cage sits on a deck in South Florida. I use a radiant heater about 30 days a year when temperatures are between 50 and 65 degrees and cover the top of the cage with a large beach towel (because South Florida is cold = windy). At night and when the temperature is below 50 degrees during the day, Georgie stays at home. COLOR The emitters come in two colors (black and white), but both emit the same infrared…

Pros
  • Inspires confidence
Cons
  • Almost everything in order
