Description of ๐ŸŒˆ Revolutionary Rainbow Silk Yarn: Eco-Friendly, Handspun from Recycled Sari Fabric, Perfect for Knitting, Weaving & Crocheting - 100g per Ball (2-Pack)

TWO BALLS OF 100% RECYCLED SARI SILK: Our multicolored silk yarn balls are spun from luxurious sari fabric ribbon scraps. This recycled silk is hand-torn, sewn together and then carefully hand-spun in order to give an already detailed fabric new life!. EACH BALL IS ONE OF A KIND: Because this recycled silk yarn is repurposed, every ball of yarn has a different color gradient and no two hanks are the same, but they all come in unique and vibrant colors. 100 GRAMS PER BALL: The sari silk fiber has a thickness which can vary from sport weight to heavy worsted weight. One 100gr yarn is 85-100 yards in length. Crafts made from sari silk yarn have a strong and firm structure, but feel soft and textured. KNIT, WEAVE, CROCHET OR NEEDLE FELT: Bring a boho edge to all your craft projects! Sari silk projects can vary from scarves, clothing, and purses, to throws and even jewelry! Recommended needle size: 7-9, hook size: I, J, K. HOW TO WASH & DRY: The silk is a soft and sensitive material. To make sure anything you make with this yarn will last long hand-wash in lukewarm water with gentle detergent, and lay flat to dry

very fickle yarn, not user friendly.

is not very soft and has clumping fiber bundles. In some places the descriptions say 80 yards, in others 100 yards. I wanted to make a decorative scarf out of it, but it's too scratchy. I think it could be good for a web project. I don't know, I haven't woven for 50 years. Nice colors but not comfortable.

The yarn appears larger in the photos than it actually is.

The colors of this yarn are very pretty but the pictures make the yarn appear larger than it really is. This is just the size of a 2 ounce ball of Peaches n' Cream yarn. I've posted some photos showing the difference in size between a 6oz and 2oz ball versus recycled sari yarn so you can judge for yourself if you think the amount is really worth the price. Much luck!

Pros
  • Easy to Use
Cons
  • Quick Start Guide

I bought yarn for a saree from another seller and was very satisfied - used it for weaving. I bought this product with the idea of making a different type of weave but found that it cannot be used effectively as the thread count varies from medium thread to a multi-ply thread for embroidery. I tried to knit a scarf from it and the colors are great and the look is very unusual, but I'm not sure you can call it attractive - it's interesting and unique. I'm not sure what is the best way to useโ€ฆ

What a mess! Uneven Color, Thickness, Softness, VERY Tightly Rolled

When I opened the package, I was disappointed that it had not become softer. So I knew it had to be used for something hard. I decided to make a small shoulder bag for the summer. COLOR: The colors are vibrant but the outside of the bead (mine) is a combination of orange, fuchsia, lime and dark green. Then, as I made my way to the center of the ball, it was a completely different color scheme: pale pink, purple, neon yellow, teal, white, and red. The? So I stopped crocheting because it wouldโ€ฆ
