Fun tent with two major flaws

I have used this tent twice on week-long trips. I have a Subaru Forester and it fits perfectly. The tent is roomy and I'm 6ft 2in tall so the height should be suitable for almost everyone. However, there are two major flaws with this tent that will eventually need to be ironed out in order for it to be a 5 star product. 1. The zipper on the front window will click into place every time you try to close or open the tent. This is very annoying! 2. The net that holds the poles hooks onto the pole…

Ideal for camping in the mountains!

So, I've read other people's comments, I've had no problems putting it up 3 times on my own, taking it down and just putting it back in my bag! From the photos you can see that the first night it rained cats and dogs in a thunderstorm and I'm pretty sure it turned into a river outside the tent, EVERYTHING STAYS DRY and not a drop got in though the jeep was parked at an angle to camp. I even checked during a storm and all the water just flowed out through the trunk channels! It's important to…

Not perfect but decent

I recommend this tent if you have a jeep and kids but not sure if it will last a year of actual camping use. I have used this tent on 3 separate occasions. Within a month I had two different pieces ripped off: one of the side jamb joints and the grille around the door. As for jeep use, it's amazing! It fits perfectly and I can let my baby sleep on top while I sleep on the bottom. Also, I can lock the back window and leave the back window open so I can talk to him and see him while the alarm…

Great Item: Exterior Accessories

I have a 1998 Ford Expedition that I bought this tent for. The instructions are pretty good, but make sure you practice putting them on before using them on your hike. Make sure the floor is fairly level. After lifting it, lock the corners temporarily while aligning the car with the hole. This allows you to adjust the position of the tent behind the hatch. It must be leveled so that it fits snugly when fitted to the vehicle. My Expedition has a roof rack and I've found that using the included…

Do-it-yourself motorhome - I can assemble it myself.

For 19 years I've said that I don't want to go to camp. I didn't like sleeping on the floor. This tent solved that problem! I love sleeping in the back seat of my SUV. I've been in it twice. Once alone (friends stayed next to me in the same tent). As a solo backpacker, I was concerned that I wouldn't be able to pitch a tent on my own (I'm 55 years old). And I'll admit that I struggled for an hour the first time (in the driveway). But once I get the hang of it, I can now set up a tent on my own…

Good tent overall, great customer service

*20/07/2020 - one of the long poles broke. I didn't notice until I took the tent down. I contacted Rightline customer service and they sent a replacement that was covered under warranty. They were a pleasure to work with and got the spare bar out very quickly. 5 stars for customer service, rating changed to 4 instead of 3 stars. The tent worked great this weekend. it even rained a bit and we stayed dry. 6/29/2020The main problem with this tent was getting the end into the pole tab that goes…

Love this platform tent with bed and tailgate Accessories

2 year update: I still love this tent. We used this tent A LOT! We've used this tent in all kinds of weather: hot, humid days, wind, rain, cold, snow, sleet, you name it. It is very well preserved. No breaks or tears. No problem. Upgrade from 4 to 5 stars. I love this tent. Lots of good things 2 little annoying things. On a recent trip to Florida we used this tent with our 2013 Chrysler Town and Country minivan. It fit perfectly in the back of the van and hooked up fairly quickly. It was easy…

Good fit for Jeep Wrangler with Gobi trunk.

Only set up once but took about 25 minutes. I don't have much experience with camping so the initial setup was slow. I suspect it will be at least 1/3 faster next time. It fits perfectly on my 2012 4-door Jeep Wrangler with Gobi trunk. Really nice little addition for camping. It looks well made and fits the vehicle well. There's even enough room to open the tailgate with the bike on the rack (be careful not to tear the tent open when towing the bike). I will use it next week and update this…
