💪 Enhanced Efficiency with the Robertshaw 710-502 Low Profile mV Gas Valve Review

I read in some reviews that the valve was not a Robert Shaw. However, the one I received was in the original RobertShaw box with RobertShaw stamped on the metal and it was an exact match for the valve I had replaced. Got up quite normally, does not flow and works as it should. I hope it lasts for many, many years. 5 stars without question. Also, I ordered it and it showed up at my door in about 19 hours. Really saved the day! Thanks very much!

I'm seeing a few reports that buyers have received a counterfeit or reissue from their seller. This isn't my area of expertise so I can't say for sure either way, but the unit I received came from a "Big Sale" seller in the correct OEM packaging with the correct accessories/plugs , papers and instructions. I bought this unit to replace a gas fireplace and it works as expected. No leaks found, no complaints.

Worked great when it first caught fire in my 1980's gas fireplace. As with most gas valves, the instructions are complex and must be strictly followed. So prepare yourself for some hard reading before you even think about installing this device yourself. Otherwise it worked the first time and several times over the past month. Highly recommended. After adjusting the bracket to hold the gas valve and struggling with severe restraints reconnecting the pilot tube, supply line and burner lead, I found that the pilot burner would not light. I pushed and pushed and no gas was fed to the pilot burner. It was difficult to determine which valve to replace as the fireplace manufacturer went out of business a few years ago. I made an educated guess and it worked. As this is a 'spare' valve for other applications, unused connections are plugged (by the installer) with the pipe plugs provided. I used this unit to replace a 60 year old assembly in a vintage Magic Chef RV heater. The old unit still worked but had no temperature control and no external thermostat.
