I love these forks - scooters and accessories

I love these forks! Hubby was able to switch from a threaded headset to a non-threaded one, and these forks easily accepted the new V-brakes. I had to convert the old cantilever brakes as the forks don't support the old brakes. What a great way to "lift" a 25 year old mountain bike! These coil shocks may not be as good as the Air shocks, but for the price, they're hard to beat. I've spent a lot of time on YouTube learning how to take an old headset off and replace it with a cheap FSA headset…

Pros
  • nice thing
Cons
  • I won't say anything

Good buy! - Stems and forks

Very good fork - replaced the stock fork on my Specialized Hardrock. The stations are thicker, the fork runs true, it's pretty light, much lighter than the stock fork! Good to have springs, not a fan of air on the shock. It came with a new asterisk, which is nice. The packaging is excellent. Comes with a sticker (my 5 year old put it on his bike right away lol). Installation was easy, took me about 30 minutes. I used a pipe cutter on a fork instead of a hacksaw, the cut was nice and straight…

Pros
  • Great for a small home
Cons
  • Some imperfections

Good trail worthy Rockshox

This is an RST GILA replacement. It has a rebound adjust and I haven't serviced it so I don't know the innards up close, but it feels more responsive than the one I had. It's hard to compare, but I can say that everything went very well, without pain. I've been looking for something I can trust on the trail and although I'm a beginner I know what it's like to hop on the front forks and fly over the bars. As a new rider, I can be technically too slow, and it's nice when the fork pushes back…

  • Great overall performance

Very good entry level fork

I put these on a 20 year old Litespeed Titanium frame as it was time to replace the original fork. I don't actually ride this bike off-road anymore and mainly use it for bike paths/bike path training on my trips with my wife. The fork is excellent value for money in my opinion. Weighs only slightly more than the original 80mm fork ($600 at the time). I really like the locking feature and reduced the preload to avoid "bouncing". Note that it's 100mm, so it changed my stance a bit, but it doesn't

Pros
  • Consistent test results
Cons
  • Protection

Great upgrade from a cheap fork

This was an upgrade from a basic no damper spring fork found on most bikes under $600 like my 2005 Giant. Me can't believe I've waited so long for true hydraulic damping, it greatly improves control on technical trails. The lockout function is not complete, but significantly limits movement with hydraulic compression damping. At 150 pounds, the spring that came with the kit seems perfect, fully open or maybe a notch (out of three I think) preload. The rebound setting is a little harder to…

Pros
  • Great for me
Cons
  • Mostly good but...

Good job refreshing an old trek.

It weighs half the weight of my original fork and is a welcome addition when I ride the roads and trails almost every night. I've clocked almost 300 miles on this unit. While it has limited off-road or mountain use, it mostly weaves through active sprinklers and "unapproved" dirt roads while you sleep. However, it handles all the curbs, potholes, wheels, jumps, limbs, bottles, rocks (and even a "pothead", but that's another story). He's even taken on a 9-point deer AND got chased by a coyote…

Pros
  • Sleek design
Cons
  • There are drawbacks
