FAKE! The Best in Pro Video Accessories

I bought a brand new Rode Video Mic Go and it makes the sound a LITTLE bit louder but also the background noise gets louder. Sounds terrible! And it stands up straight less than 2 feet from the mic. It would be easier to just speak louder and use the built in microphone on my Canon Rebel T6i. WHY? Because the microphone is FAKE! When I registered the mic on ride.com, it turned out that my serial number was already registered to a different owner. I will contact Rod! The seller was Beschen and…

Pros
  • Sleek Design
Cons
  • Blank

USE EARPHONES IF YOU CAN'T HEAR IT IN THE VIDEO You cannot edit in the post. This microphone picks up my smartphone's WiFi and my camera's WiFi. I mounted the microphone on top of the Canon M50 using a hot shoe. I've tried shielding the standard cable, and also other cables with better shielding and shape (straight or coiled) but nothing seems to work. This sound error is unacceptable. Don't buy this mic if you care about how your sound sounds.

Pros
  • Best in its niche

  • I vaguely remember

Get Dead Cat For Winds still a good mic without it

I love this Rode mic the one I bought was a Rode VMGO Video Mic GO. I've used it on my Sony A7II, Nikon D5500 and occasionally on my laptops for vlogging. I used this mostly during a loud party e.g. B. if a DJ was invited to the party and played loud music. I don't want my audio bases to show up or go offline so that's what I got. It's the perfect size and performance for those who are on a budget but need a good microphone. I would still go for the smaller version for travel vlogs with…

Same clicking/noise as everyone else

I foolishly ignored reviews of how this mic picks up interference from WiFi sources, electronics, etc. Did a quick test with the mic installed and didn't think it sounded much better than the built in mic on my Canon T6i. But no noise. Then I went to shoot a video on YouTube and I heard all these noises and clicks - like your phone is too close to the microphone and you hear the cellphone signal chirping. Completely ruined the clips and had to redo them. One difference is that it was closer to…

Search "Rode Video Mic Go Popping " and you won't buy this one

This mic has a design flaw that I want to know about before I buy because I would never buy it. But I learned it the hard way. The microphone does not filter the radio signal noise well. So as soon as you use the mic and get close to something that's emitting signals like Bluetooth or maybe even WiFi, you're going to have popping noises in whatever audio it's picking up at the time. This can also happen when the camcorder/camera it is mounted on emits certain signals. Find this problem and read

DON'T SPEND YOUR MONEY!

THIS REVIEW IS FOR A VIDEO I bought this microphone for my Canon 6D Mark II I do product reviews on YouTube (MKvapor channel) YouTube to find a solution for them 5 videos and their solution was to throw it away and that's the same solution rides give you when you call them they say oh you heard about our video mic + it's like i bought a chevy cruze that just backwards, when I go to the dealership they tell me if you've heard of our Cadillac Escalade. There is no solution to the problem, it's…

Just plug it in and you're good to go!

Update: I cracked after 1 year. It's so annoying that I know I've been using it for a while. First Review: I am reviewing this Rode Mic Go a month after purchase to give a fair review. It looks the same as in the picture. The microphone is very light, in fact it makes no difference in weight once mounted on my DSLR's hot shoe. It can also connect to iPhone and iPad. I use this mic for all three. If you want to use it with your iPad or iPhone, you'll need to buy an adapter called the Rode SC4…

Avoid Video Microphone Go! With this purchase you play the lottery!

From day one this mic was a nuisance. Every video I make with this mic comes with an intermittent click. The clicking sounds roughly as if your cell phone is too close to the speakers. I've been trying to solve this problem for months! He ruined several videos! I tried almost every setting until I came across these suggestions from others who had this problem. I've tried the most popular suggestions with no success.1. Some say it's too close to wifi and/or my phone, removed it from those…

Decent mic for beginners

Fair warning, I make videos as a hobby and I'm NOT a professional. So some of my issues may be my fault and not the mic's fault. I mainly shoot interview-style videos. I also use Video MicGO with a Canon 80D DSLR. The reason for the 3 stars is that the sound quality is definitely better than the camera's internal microphone, but there are many problems (mostly minor ones).1. You have to be close to the object, for example very close. Beyond a few meters (at bounty) the noise quality degrades…

Pros
  • Built-in Rycote Lyre shock mount protects video mic from shock and vibration
Cons
  • Frequency

Note, however, that this microphone does not use a battery and was designed primarily for digital SLR cameras that supply power through a microphone cable (Rode Accessories beautiful spiral that does not bother). Because of this, most DSLRs made today are compatible with this little gem. Check compatibility on the Rode website before purchasing. Setup is easy. Just go to YouTube and find the Rode Video Mic GO setting for your particular DSLR as it is a popular microphone around the world. If…

Pros
  • Rode has developed a video microphone with a narrow pick-up area that is focused directly in front of the microphone
Cons
  • Useless features
