Two of these are broken: Computer and Accessories

I bought two of these from Revain in 2014 and installed them on 2 different computers. One failed after about 2 years and the other failed in the last few days. The problem is that when you insert a working SD card, Windows 10 does not recognize it. If we look in "Disk Manager" we can see that Windows found the card, but it shows it as "unallocated" - this means that the card reader could not find a section , although there is actually a good section. I also have a Transcend USB card reader…

Very slow ports for card readers

I have tried several times to write a detailed review of this product but Revain refuses to write a review. I don't know why, everything is in the manual. Instead, I'll summarize why this device sucks and skip a few good points. First of all, all of the card reader slots on this hub are USB 2.0. This makes this reader extremely slow compared to other USB 3.0 card readers. Reading from a class 10 card offers a reading speed of no more than 20 Mbit/s. Comparing the same card with a USB 3.0 reader

Check your motherboard for 3.0!

Arrived well packaged, worked straight out of the box and was delivered promptly - excellent service especially during the global health crisis. I work with a lot of memory cards from different cameras and am fed up with plug adapters. All card slots worked, even with my very old Canon large memory rectangles (they are huge!). I'm very happy that they work on the USB 2.0 side. Unfortunately my motherboard doesn't support 3.0 :( sad. I really wanted to have 3.0 on the front. I guess I'll need a…

USB 2.0 ports stopped working in a week

USB 2.0 ports worked for about 10 days and then stopped completely (all 4). I used device manager to uninstall and reinstall, I disconnected and reconnected to the motherboard and connected to a different connector on the motherboard. Nothing helped. USB 3.0 and card reader work but after reading the reviews I'm afraid they will fail soon. Rosewill gave me an RMA but based on the other reviews here I have strong doubts it will fail. On the other hand, there are enough positive reviews to risk…

Robust USB front panel and multimedia sector for your desktop

Works as intended. The USB 3.0 ports are average speed (not as fast as the 3.0 ports on the back of my motherboard) and there are plenty of 2.0 ports even if you have a lot of USB devices to connect. Average speed, so not much to consider here. It requires a SATA power connector and a USB 3.0 slot on the motherboard to work. So keep that in mind if you buy it as an add-on for your current computer. Watch out for the edges; they are sharp.

SDHC Owners Attention - Computer Accessories and Peripherals

Just got it in the mail and installed it so these are first impressions. When I opened it I was very impressed with how it looks, very professional and subtle. I like the matte finish, it seems like a solid device. After installing it on my computer, I encountered a few problems: My biggest problem is the user manual. I'm quite a technical guy but there were also a few things I wanted answers to like the SATA cable is only needed if I want to use the eSata port and why it needs a power cable…

Died about a month later.

This reader was purchased on April 23, 2014, easy to install and I had high expectations as it looks reliable. Unfortunately when I was using it two days ago I didn't respond when I inserted the SD card and that's when I noticed the power light was off. After reinstalling the connector on the motherboard (to no avail), I removed the device from the computer and opened it up. The internal circuitry consists of a small circuit board with all the electronics and two connectors that connect to the…

USB powered and works better than Kingwin!

This *is* a powered USB hub and currently offers much better performance than Kingwin front bay USB hubs. I bought this to replace the USB/SATA ports in the OEM top front case. Somehow one of the case's USB ports melted from having the USB stick plugged in all night. Two USB/SATA ports and electronics are likely to have compromised integrity now. After connecting the Rosewill device, all USB ports seem to work fine with USB2/USB3 flash drives along with the keyboard attached. I haven't checked…

Another USB device crashes and is disruptive after 4 months

In normal operation, each card slot appears as a separate drive letter in Windows Explorer. After the 30-day return period, the drives no longer showed up in File Explorer until they were recovered through a reboot. After about a month, even a reboot didn't solve the problem, and on top of that, the Logitech keyboard intermittently lost characters sent through its Unifying USB receiver. I unplugged this keyboard and plugged in another keyboard with the same intermittent results. The original…
