Rotation Leather Desktop Stitching Leathercraft Crafting Review

Like other Arizans, I place soft leather pads on the clamp sections to protect my projects. It does a great job when I need a third hand to hold the item while I'm sewing.

Received today without the wing nut and it still doesn't work because the screw it attaches to is not long enough to hold it. The arms don't quite fit, but that's ok for the price. The rest looks well made. Can't use tonight as I have to go to the hardware store now.

The price is good for a start. There are no brackets even on what I have. I had to apply extra skin to clamp better. There are no instructions, but it's easy to figure out how to use it. I don't see how this can be considered desktop usage. You need to sit down and put a long piece of wood under your leg to hold it in place. I would suggest taking some felt or soft leather and putting it on top of the clamp piece so it doesn't scratch your work.

I was so happy to receive this product to help sew my leather goods. Then I looked at the device and was totally disappointed. The bent part of the folding handle is badly rusted (see picture). Where the shaft enters the tube to move the pony's arm is also heavily rusted! One of the screws holding the hardware to the wood has been removed. A very good piece of craftsmanship. I refused to pay the price that leather manufacturers across the country charge for a sewn pony. This has a simple design. Turning the screw increases the strength of the jaw. Be sure to cover the cheeks with leather or any protective material. Nobody wants to mess up a project by spending hours on it.
