The painting was my first test hole.

The whole house audio plan for a house under construction includes about 14 speakers that I will mount to the rafters on ¼" thick plywood. Used a 1/8" RotoZip GP8 drywall cutter with a 1/8" pilot tip to see if it would cut drywall using a plywood speaker mount as a guide. The painting was my first test hole. Works fast and does the job I need.

Pros
  • For materials up to 1" thick
Cons
  • Minor issues

Bit box defective?

I received these bits and decided to test them on a box where two of the bits broke in half almost immediately. The third bit finally passed the test of the new tool. I don't know how they will hold up in the workplace. I'm not overly optimistic after breaking 2 or them just cut out the cardboard. Maybe they give you 8 bits for 7 bucks because half of them break right away? I'm looking for something better.

Pros
  • Manufacturer: Rotozip
Cons
  • Only available in black

Great price and just what I wanted.

In local hypermarkets there are only multi-assortment packs with one of them for about 8 dollars. If I wanted the ones I wanted I would have to buy a different pack. This packet had 8 bits. It's just over a dollar each. I cut drywall for a 120 square foot room with a bit. The guide point is ideal to avoid damaging the wood and plastic electrical boxes behind the drywall. I first heard about these beats in a YouTube video about building a barn. I'm surprised it's not a more commonly used item.

Pros
  • Country of manufacture: USA
Cons
  • Slightly torn

Of course - order if you want to punish yourself

Really disappointing purchase. These pieces will make you pull your hair out. Absolute rubbish. This might work for you if you are installing 1/4 drywall. I wouldn't even believe them. My Story: Bought two packs of eight for a small hanging job of about 30 sheets of 4x8 5/8" drywall. The only goal was to cut out about 70 holes for lights and outlets. I expected some of them to break. I could even carving an output box. The first cutter went to my worker just after slowly plunging the guide tip…

Pros
  • Manufacturer: Rotozip
Cons
  • You could have chosen a newer model

Much better than DeWalt bits - well designed, sharp, easy to use.

I used these bits with a Dewalt DW660 drywall router. I used to use Dewalt bits but they are no longer available. Now I understand why you can't get Dewalt bits - Roto Zip bits are much better. The main differences are that the non-cutting tip of the bit is shorter (which is fine for my taste, DeWalt bits are too long) and the bit has a sharper feel (at least it cuts easier). I've seen reviews where people have written that the racquet is easy to break. You must be doing something wrong to…

Pros
  • Bit Material: HSS
Cons
  • No Power
